One of Brians top Bird Posts

Glossy Ibis from November 2011

I've just had the privilege of seeing the rare Glossy Ibis Plegadis falcinellus in Filey. It has been at East Lea and the Dams for the past 9 days. They breed in South Europe and migrate to Africa in the winter but has probably been blown off course by strong southerly winds. I saw the bird this morning at East Lea with a lot of other bird-watchers courtesy of Jack Whitehead of FBOG and it was a truly awesome experience to see it.
