Good Friday

Two pictures from Jerusalem. These steps are over 2000yrs old, and it is quite possible that Jesus walked on them on his way to his death. Outside the walls now, some historians think this site is that of the High Priests House, and  would have been within the ancient walls.

Filey is bathed in warm sunshine for once, and the town is buzzing with all those coming here to open up their holiday caravans , to air their second homes, to plant their first earlies at last , and to have a day out; just like Jerusalem would have been then in the great Passover Feast.

Here is love, vast as the ocean (seen from Filey)
Loving kindness as the flood
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom
Shed for us His precious blood, precious blood

Here is love, vast as the ocean
Loving kindness as the flood
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom
Shed for us His precious blood

Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten
Throughout Heaven's eternal days

On the mount of crucifixion
Fountains opened deep and wide
Through the floodgates of God's mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide

Grace and love, like mighty rivers
Poured incessant from above
And Heaven's peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love.
