This coming Sunday is Passion Sunday when we are reminded that Jesus set his face towards Jerusalem knowing what lay ahead for him. He set out with great sadness but not without hope. He had a job to do and he was not going to fail his father at this most important time.
We too must remember that God is always with us, and that, no matter what the future may hold, he will always be with us. And so, at this Passiontide, we commit ourselves afresh to following in his way; the way that, even with all its twists and turns, eventually brings us home to him. We learn again that with God's help we will eventually reach our goal of eternal life.
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he had promised. Hebrews 10: 35-6
