Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done.

Psalm 149

1 Praise the LORD.
Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the saints.

Who is making music?
Who shall we make music to?

2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker;
let the people of Zion be glad in their King.

Who is our King?
Who is our king-maker?

3 Let them praise his name with dancing
and make music to him with tambourine and harp.

Is it time to dance?
Or is it time for sackcloth and ashes?

4 For the LORD takes delight in his people;
he crowns the humble with salvation.

Where are the humble?
What is our salvation?

5 Let the saints rejoice in this honor
and sing for joy on their beds.

Who are the politicians "getting into bed with"?
When will it be time to sing for joy?

In all the turmoil of political bargaining, please pray that God's will WILL be done.

Pray for guidance for our leaders, our potential leaders and our disappointed would-be leaders.

Pray for our country that we may see God's way forward.

Pray especially in this Christian Aid week for those countries where there is such abject poverty and corruption that our issues pale into insignificance.

Thy kingdom come, O Lord - with our active participation!
Thy will be done, O Lord!
